Terms & Conditions of Enrolment
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re joining us. To ensure a safe, positive and professional training environment for everyone, please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully.
By enrolling in a class with Geelong & Surf Coast Dog Co., you agree to the terms below.
1. Enrolment & Payment
Full payment is required to secure your place in a class.
Payment confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Refunds, Cancellations & Missed Classes
Due to limited class numbers and preparation involved:
We do not offer refunds for cancellations or change of mind.
Missed classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you are unable to attend a session, weekly class notes will be emailed to you so you can continue training at home.
If a session is postponed due to trainer illness, unsafe weather or safety concerns, it will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
Nothing in this policy excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
3. Class Safety & Handling Requirements
To maintain a safe and welcoming environment:
Dogs must remain on a standard 4–6ft lead at all times unless instructed otherwise by trainer.
No retractable leads.
Never approach or touch another dog, or allow dog-to-dog contact unless permission is given by the other owner or under trainer guidance.
Please wear enclosed footwear suitable for outdoor movement (no thongs, slides or heels).
Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
If a situation arises where safety is compromised, we may need to step in or, in rare cases, ask a participant to leave.
4. Health & Vaccination Requirements
For the wellbeing of all dogs:
Puppies and dogs must be up to date with age-appropriate vaccinations.
Proof of vaccination must be provided to Geelong & Surf Coast Dog Co. prior to attending. A link to upload a copy of the vaccination certificate will be sent after receipt of payment.
Please ensure your puppy’s or dog’s flea and worming treatments are up to date.
Dogs must not attend if showing signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, lethargy, etc.).
If your dog becomes unwell before class, please notify us.
5. Behaviour Suitability
Our group classes are designed for dogs who can work around others in a structured setting.
If your dog has a history of aggression, biting, or significant reactivity toward people or dogs, please contact us before booking so we can chat about whether group training is the right fit.
Our priority is the safety and comfort of all dogs and handlers in class.
6. Training Environment
Our classes are held on a rural property.
Before each session, the training area is checked for safety. However, rural environments naturally include potential hazards, including but not limited to: uneven ground, wildlife (including snakes), insects, natural debris or sharp objects.
By attending, you accept these inherent environmental risks and agree to remain aware of your surroundings at all times.
7. Photos & Videos
We love celebrating your progress. Occasionally, photos or short videos may be taken during classes for use on social media, our website or promotional materials.
If you would prefer not to be included, please let us know in writing before your first class, we completely respect your choice.
8. Assumption of Risk
Dog training involves movement, interaction and learning in real-world environments. While every effort is made to maintain a safe space, participation is at your own risk.
By attending, you accept responsibility for your dog’s behaviour and agree to follow trainer guidance at all times.
Geelong & Surf Coast Dog Co. is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from participation, except where liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
9. Training Outcomes
Training success depends on consistency, handler participation and each individual dog. While we provide guidance, education and support, specific behavioural outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
